Synopses:

Blogging for beginners:  What is a blog? Why is it such a powerful tool? How do I write stuff on my blog? Aimed at teachers or TAs who want to find out about blogs and how they can be used in school to stimulate writing and act as a class resource.

Adding Bling to your Blog:  How to embed stuff into your blog. Part 1: slideshows, PowerPoints, video and more. Part 2: mindmaps, Vokis, Voicethread, audio and more. Embedding multimedia can really bring your blog alive and provide powerful collaborative opportunities

Online Photo Hosting:  How hosting images online can transform the way you work with them. How to embed them in blogs and wikis, tagging, editing online, RSS and more. Once your images are online you have instant access to one of the most powerful resources availble to you.

Introduction to podcasting:  How to record, edit and podcast audio. We will use Audacity to record and edit voice and look at easy ways to publish online. In a recent pupil audit at a school I work with, when asked waht their favourite ICT activity was, most children responded with “podcasting”. Isn’t it about time you gave it a go?

Costs

Host schools get up to 3 free places on their own course and 2 other places free. All members of Creative Blogs £35 per seat. Everyone else £50.

Note: all of these courses are available as a staff INSET session, on either a staff INSET day or an extended staff meeting at a cost of £150 for schools with Creative Blogs sites or £200 for schools without. Contact me to book a session.
