Teaching Digital Literacy through Blogging

This afternoon I am talking to IT leaders in Bury about how blogging can be used as a platform for teaching digital literacy. I’m using Professor Steve Wheeler’s model of digital literacy which I’m quite taken with largely because it can be presented as a matrix in graphical form making it easier to talk about and debate rather than a dry written definition, of which there are plenty. I have put together a short Prezi for the purpose which includes links to Steve’s original blogpost and to White and le Cornu’s theory on digital residents and digital immigrants. Comments welcome.

My thanks to Cherise Duxbury for the invite.
